AN - (A)VOID (N)ONSENSE

Colossians 3:5-9

5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8 But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

The letter "D" in the word "AND" has been intentionally removed from this site to inspire you to eliminate negative thoughts, situations, and matters from your life. Just as you may have noticed the missing "D" as improper grammar, take this opportunity to recognize and acknowledge the aspects of your life that you need to let go.

The absence of the "D" may lead others to perceive it as a mistake. When they notice what they think is an error, they often feel compelled to point it out, as if they themselves are perfect. If you find yourself in this category, let the missing "D" in "AND" be a powerful reminder of the potential for transformation within you.

This intentional removal encourages everyone to discard negativity and embrace positive change. Use this moment to reflect on what truly deserves to be part of your life.

Some desires in our lives can lead us astray, and our actions may carry consequences.
As 1 Corinthians 10:23 reminds us, “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.
Our flesh often craves things that aren’t good for us. Engaging in unprotected sex or abusing substances can have serious implications. The story of Adam and Eve shows that disobedience leads to significant repercussions (Genesis 3), and likewise, David faced consequences for his actions with another man's wife (2 Samuel 12:13-14).
This message isn’t meant to frighten us away from Christ; rather, it shines a light on the sins we may grapple with. By seeking God's deliverance, we can find hope and healing. None of us are perfect, but we serve a good God who is always ready to rescue us from our struggles. He sent His Son to die for our sins, understanding our needs and desires.
The battle has already been won, and now we must walk in that victory by trying with all our hearts.
1 Corinthians 10:13 reminds us, "But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."
This moment of pause offers us a chance to escape if we choose to accept it. Yet, the cravings of the flesh can be overpowering, especially when we live by our desires instead of the Holy Spirit. God truly gives us a way out.
Imagine this: you’re on your way to buy drugs when suddenly you get a flat tire. Instead of seeing this as a sign to turn back, you continue on your path. Or picture this moment: you're about to engage in sexual activity, and the other person says, “I don’t have a condom.” At that juncture, you have the opportunity to step away, but many let their desires take over.
God knows we are not perfect and desires for us to recognize the strength He provides to turn away from sin. It’s crucial to listen and respond to the exits God opens. Do not let the flesh lead you to destruction. As it says in John 10:10, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."
When the flesh overwhelms us, we risk falling into situations that can break relationships and alter our lives. I have chosen to recognize these moments and, when they arise, to pause and listen to the Holy Spirit. When I feel the urge to react negatively, I remember that preserving my relationship with Christ is what truly matters!

      Proverbs 6:16-19
16 There are six things the Lord hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
17         haughty eyes,
       a lying tongue,
       hands that shed innocent blood,
18         a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19         a false witness who pours out lies
and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.

Galatians 6:7
7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

James 1:19-20 NIV
My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.
Romans 12:2
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 12:17-21
17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[ says the Lord. 20 On the contrary:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
